As such, there is an arbitrary (but not architectural)\nlimit to the number of CCWs that can exist in a single channel program.\n\nThe vfio-ccw logic breaks these channel programs into segments whenever\nit encounters a Transfer-In-Channel (TIC) CCW, and the combined number\nof segments count towards the global limit. Impose an equivalent limit\nto the number of segments until such logic can be made non-recursive.","published":"2026-08-26T15:17:10.000Z","lastModified":"2026-10-16T20:18:00.000Z","status":"Received","sourceIdentifier":"416baaa9-dc9f-4396-8d5f-8c081fb06d67","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":9.3,"severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:H/I:H/A:H"},"cwe":[],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00196,"percentile":0.0917,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.20%).
