The ssl_zen_messages::getMessages() function builds the 'token_missmatch' message using base64_decode(sanitize_text_field($_REQUEST['uri'])) and (optionally) base64_decode(sanitize_text_field($_REQUEST['host'])). sanitize_text_field() cannot strip HTML/JavaScript that is hidden inside a base64-encoded blob, and the resulting decoded raw HTML is echoed unescaped by showMessage() . This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that execute if they can successfully trick a user into performing an action such as clicking on a specially crafted link.","published":"2026-09-25T08:16:40.000Z","lastModified":"2026-09-25T13:08:08.000Z","status":"Deferred","sourceIdentifier":"security@wordfence.com","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":6.1,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N"},"cwe":["CWE-79"],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00274,"percentile":0.19569,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[{"date":"2026-09-25","score":0.00274,"percentile":0.17632}]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"low","text":"Lower severity and a low EPSS score (0.27%).
