When\nnormalizing a Distinguished Name (DN) that contains a legacy-quoted value encoding a\nmultivalued nested Relative Distinguished Name (RDN), the server can write past the\nend of a heap allocation while sorting RDN attribute-value pairs. An unauthenticated\nremote attacker can trigger this condition by sending an LDAP operation whose DN\nreaches the DN normalization routine, such as a search with a crafted base DN. This\ncan corrupt heap memory and may cause denial of service.","published":"2026-07-07T15:16:43.000Z","lastModified":"2026-07-09T20:20:52.000Z","status":"Analyzed","sourceIdentifier":"secalert@redhat.com","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":5.3,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L"},"cwe":["CWE-122"],"affected":["redhat/directory server","redhat/389 directory server","redhat/enterprise linux"],"epss":{"score":0.00487,"percentile":0.41663,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"low","text":"Lower severity and a low EPSS score (0.49%).
