In the VNC TLS read path, partial consumption of the internal peek buffer incorrectly moves remaining peeked bytes into the caller-supplied buffer instead of compacting the peek buffer. A remote attacker who can reach an enabled VNC TLS listener and trigger a peek/read size mismatch can cause an out-of-bounds write, leading to denial of service.","published":"2026-10-13T13:17:29.000Z","lastModified":"2026-10-15T16:33:26.000Z","status":"Awaiting Analysis","sourceIdentifier":"secalert@redhat.com","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":5.9,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"},"cwe":["CWE-121"],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00368,"percentile":0.30472,"date":"2026-10-27","history":[{"date":"2026-10-14","score":0.00367,"percentile":0.28923}]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"low","text":"Lower severity and a low EPSS score (0.37%).
