ReqLLM.Streaming.WebSocketSession.Client.start/3 in lib/req_llm/streaming/web_socket_session/client.ex starts WebSockex without TLS options, and WebSockex defaults to insecure: true, which connects with verify: :verify_none. The option allowlist also drops any caller-supplied cacerts or ssl_options, so an application cannot turn verification on.\n\nThe OpenAI Responses, Realtime, and Codex WebSocket paths reach this client and send the API key or OAuth access token in the authorization header. HTTP streaming through Finch and the HTTP/2 duplex session through Mint verify certificates and are not affected.\n\nThis issue affects req_llm: from 1.9.0 before 1.29.0.","published":"2026-10-23T12:18:06.000Z","lastModified":"2026-10-23T19:57:43.000Z","status":"Deferred","sourceIdentifier":"6b3ad84c-e1a6-4bf7-a703-f496b71e49db","cvss":{"version":"4.0","score":9.1,"severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:P/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N/E:X/CR:X/IR:X/AR:X/MAV:X/MAC:X/MAT:X/MPR:X/MUI:X/MVC:X/M"},"cwe":["CWE-295"],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00273,"percentile":0.19548,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[{"date":"2026-10-24","score":0.00338,"percentile":0.26015}]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.27%).
