A certificate containing `DNS:127.0.0.1` and no `IP Address:127.0.0.1` SAN was therefore accepted, while the same certificate is correctly rejected for `127.0.0.1`. Exploitation requires a certificate with a numeric DNS SAN issued by a CA trusted by the client, and a platform resolver that accepts these spellings, such as glibc.\n\nThis vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**, **24.x**, and **22.x**.","published":"2026-10-23T17:17:20.000Z","lastModified":"2026-10-23T19:42:25.000Z","status":"Awaiting Analysis","sourceIdentifier":"support@hackerone.com","cvss":{"version":"3.0","score":6.7,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:L"},"cwe":["CWE-295"],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00548,"percentile":0.45726,"date":"2026-10-27","history":[{"date":"2026-10-24","score":0.00306,"percentile":0.22305}]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"low","text":"Lower severity and a low EPSS score (0.55%).
