A later content read then returns attacker-controlled bytes from the start of the file instead of rejecting the archive, and CRC-32 verification still passes because the attacker controls the central directory CRC. A Node.js-based scanner can therefore approve different content from what another ZIP implementation extracts from the same archive.\n\nThis vulnerability affects Node.js **26.x**.","published":"2026-10-23T17:17:20.000Z","lastModified":"2026-10-23T19:42:25.000Z","status":"Awaiting Analysis","sourceIdentifier":"support@hackerone.com","cvss":{"version":"3.0","score":3.7,"severity":"LOW","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:N/AC:H/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N"},"cwe":["CWE-840"],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00347,"percentile":0.28037,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[{"date":"2026-10-24","score":0.00324,"percentile":0.24307}]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"low","text":"Lower severity and a low EPSS score (0.35%).
