This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to create a new Administrator-level WordPress account by supplying `wp_capabilities[administrator]=1` alongside standard registration fields. The nonce required by the endpoint is publicly emitted into the `front_end_data` JavaScript object on every front-end page via `wp_enqueue_scripts`, making it trivially obtainable by any unauthenticated visitor before submitting the malicious request.","published":"2026-10-14T08:17:03.000Z","lastModified":"2026-10-15T17:17:12.000Z","status":"Deferred","sourceIdentifier":"security@wordfence.com","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":9.8,"severity":"CRITICAL","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H"},"cwe":["CWE-269"],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00833,"percentile":0.57384,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[{"date":"2026-10-14","score":0.00646,"percentile":0.49779}]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.83%).
