An attacker with DDL rights on a connected MySQL/MSSQL datasource can create a column whose name contains a backtick (MySQL) or single quote (MSSQL) plus additional SQL; Budibase's schema introspection stores the name verbatim, and when a Budibase builder later renames that column through the UI (POST /api/tables with _rename.old), the embedded quote character terminates the identifier and the injected SQL is executed. Because the MySQL connection is opened with multipleStatements: true, stacked statements run as Budibase's datasource user, allowing arbitrary reads, writes, or destructive operations on the connected database outside Budibase's row/table permission model. Fixed in 3.45.0.","published":"2026-09-26T14:16:53.000Z","lastModified":"2026-10-08T16:16:59.000Z","status":"Deferred","sourceIdentifier":"disclosure@vulncheck.com","cvss":{"version":"4.0","score":8.9,"severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:H/AT:P/PR:L/UI:P/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:H/SA:H/E:X/CR:X/IR:X/AR:X/MAV:X/MAC:X/MAT:X/MPR:X/MUI:X/MVC:X/M"},"cwe":["CWE-89"],"affected":[],"epss":{"score":0.00263,"percentile":0.18092,"date":"2026-10-27","history":[{"date":"2026-09-27","score":0.00206,"percentile":0.09506}]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.26%).
