The FjGabiFlashCoreAbstractionSmm driver registers a Software System Management Interrupt (SWSMI) handler that is not sufficiently validated to ensure that the CommBuffer (or any other communication buffer's nested contents) are not pointing to SMRAM contents. A potential attacker can therefore write fixed data to SMRAM, which could lead to data corruption inside this memory (e.g., change the SMI handler's code or modify SMRAM map structures to break input pointer validation for other SMI handlers). Thus, the attacker could elevate privileges from ring 0 to ring -2 and execute arbitrary code in SMM.","published":"2022-05-04T15:15:13.000Z","lastModified":"2026-06-17T04:39:06.000Z","status":"Modified","sourceIdentifier":"cve@mitre.org","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":7.8,"severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H"},"cwe":["CWE-787"],"affected":["fujitsu/lifebook a3510 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u9310 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u7511 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u7411 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u7311 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u9311 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook e5510 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u7510 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u7410 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook u7310 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook e459 firmware","fujitsu/lifebook e449 firmware"],"epss":{"score":0.00479,"percentile":0.41063,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.48%).
