The length of the buffer is controlled by an attacker. By providing a length smaller than 0xCC, memcpy reaches out of the malloc'ed bound. This possibly leads to memory layout information leaking in the data. This might be used in a chain of vulnerability in order to reach code execution.","published":"2021-05-26T22:15:08.000Z","lastModified":"2026-06-17T03:53:17.000Z","status":"Modified","sourceIdentifier":"patrick@puiterwijk.org","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":7.1,"severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:H"},"cwe":["CWE-125"],"affected":["dmg2img project/dmg2img"],"epss":{"score":0.00961,"percentile":0.6137,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.96%).
