This vulnerability is due to missing checks when an IP camera processes a Cisco Discovery Protocol packet. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a malicious Cisco Discovery Protocol packet to an affected device. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute code on the affected IP camera or cause it to reload unexpectedly, resulting in a denial of service (DoS) condition. Note: Cisco Discovery Protocol is a Layer 2 protocol. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker must be in the same broadcast domain as the affected device (Layer 2 adjacent).","published":"2020-10-08T05:15:15.000Z","lastModified":"2026-06-17T03:18:34.000Z","status":"Modified","sourceIdentifier":"psirt@cisco.com","cvss":{"version":"3.1","score":8.8,"severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.1/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H"},"cwe":["CWE-119"],"affected":["cisco/8000p ip camera firmware","cisco/8020 ip camera firmware","cisco/8030 ip camera firmware","cisco/8070 ip camera firmware","cisco/8400 ip camera firmware","cisco/8620 ip camera firmware","cisco/8630 ip camera firmware","cisco/8930 speed dome ip camera firmware"],"epss":{"score":0.00746,"percentile":0.54552,"date":"2026-10-26","history":[]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.75%).
