The next time the product attempts to write to the log file, the target of the symlink is renamed. This defect can be exploited to rename a critical product file (e.g., AvastSvc.exe), causing the product to fail to start on the next system restart.","published":"2019-07-18T17:15:12.000Z","lastModified":"2026-06-17T02:12:35.000Z","status":"Modified","sourceIdentifier":"cve@mitre.org","cvss":{"version":"3.0","score":4.4,"severity":"MEDIUM","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:L/AC:L/PR:H/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:N"},"cwe":["CWE-59"],"affected":["avast/antivirus"],"epss":{"score":0.00543,"percentile":0.45436,"date":"2026-10-27","history":[]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"low","text":"Lower severity and a low EPSS score (0.54%).
