The vulnerability is due to a corruption of certain timer mechanisms triggered by specific roaming events. This corruption will eventually cause a timer crash. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending malicious reassociation events multiple times to the same AP in a short period of time, causing a DoS condition on the affected AP.","published":"2018-10-17T22:29:01.000Z","lastModified":"2026-06-17T01:30:49.000Z","status":"Modified","sourceIdentifier":"psirt@cisco.com","cvss":{"version":"3.0","score":7.4,"severity":"HIGH","vector":"CVSS:3.0/AV:A/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:C/C:N/I:N/A:H"},"cwe":["CWE-400"],"affected":["cisco/access points"],"epss":{"score":0.00856,"percentile":0.58196,"date":"2026-10-27","history":[]},"kev":{"listed":false},"exploits":{"count":0,"verified":false,"firstPublished":null,"source":"Exploit-DB (https://gitlab.com/exploit-database/exploitdb)","entries":[]},"verdict":{"level":"high","text":"High impact if exploited, but EPSS currently rates exploitation as unlikely (0.86%).
